Cakedreams

Cakedreams is not an ordinary baking book with ready-made recipes. The structure follows a modular principle for cakes as well as moist or dry cakes. Through this modular system, it is possible for everyone to become creative in baking themselves. The book is divided into four chapters, each chapter describes an element of the construction and thus allows an individual composition of pies and cakes. For the baking book, the basic criteria for the structure and design of a book were researched and applied. The components of the recipes were put together with the knowledge of a trained pastry chef.

A poster series was designed to match the book, for which basic criteria for the structure and design of posters were also researched and applied. Circles and triangles serve as elementary design elements of the posters and symbolize pieces of cake and tarts. The different levels symbolize the layers of a cake. The basic posters were supplemented by two specials for Valentine's Day and Christmas. In addition, a design concept (posts) for social media was created.

The layout of the book and the posters were created with InDesign, the illustrations in Illustrator and the GIF in AfterEffects. The project was supervised by Robert Heissmann (posters) and Jürgen Graef (book).
