Weingarten - AI agents are regarded as the next stage in the development of generative artificial intelligence. In this seminar, Jürgen Graef explains how they could change our lives, our society and the world of work. He will also shed light on the potential and risks of these programs, which no longer act merely as tools, but also as problem solvers and autonomous decision-makers.

AI agents are part of generative artificial intelligence and are a big step closer to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). The programs learn from experience, optimize their processes and interact independently with their environment. In addition to the progress in technology, however, questions also arise about the appropriate use and application of increasingly autonomous robots and intelligent software systems. In this seminar, Jürgen Graef therefore also deals with questions of regulation and ethics: How can responsible framework conditions be created? What guidelines are needed to ensure that these systems act in accordance with ethical and social values?

Jürgen Graef is Professor of Media Design at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at RWU. He is a graduate of the Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd and the Royal Academy of Art The Hague. Prior to his appointment, he managed an office for strategic interface design in Munich, specializing in human-robot interaction and user experience design. His professional spectrum includes the fundamentals of design, interaction & user experience design, usability engineering and digital innovation design. He is currently working intensively on the opportunities and challenges of generative AI for the design discipline.
