At the RWU Career Days, employers and future employees meet and make initial contacts. These contacts are particularly valuable for students, especially for internship semesters, final theses or starting a job.
Almost 130 companies and many interested students
From November 11 to 13, 2024, almost 130 companies were guests at RWU. Both the foyer of the main building and the adjoining hall accommodated the exhibitors and created a university-internal trade fair feeling. Some companies have been attending for years and see a clear advantage in the encounters. "It's a nice, informal atmosphere," says Alexa Hohl from ZfP Südwürttemberg. "And there are always good discussions and suitable internships. And it's just different when you're talking to each other in person than when you just get an application sent to you."
The first day of the Career Days traditionally hosts institutions from the social and healthcare sectors, while the second and third days focus on commercial and technical companies. The range of employers is wide and covers precisely the specialist areas that RWU graduates can cover. It's a win-win situation for both sides, so to speak.

Networking for long-term company loyalty
Viktoria Gottmann, a third-semester student on the Bachelor's degree program in Health Economics, really enjoyed the authentic exchange with employees from the institutions. "Most of the companies are introduced by fellow students from the fifth semester. They are currently working in the companies and can share their experiences with us. We simply don't have this direct connection on the internet or on social media."
Various company representatives confirm how well the connection between the students and their companies works. "For us, the whole thing has become totally established. We have been on site for several years now and have had very good experiences with the transition from students to working student jobs and even taking them on in the company, where we can easily retain the young people", reported Tina Langosch from Carthago Reisemobilbau GmbH. "The direct exchange also gives you an initial feeling for whether someone will fit into the company team."
Competition always a big highlight
The exchange at the fair and getting to know each other formed the core of the career days. Nevertheless, a supporting program was also offered to give students even more incentive to take part in the career days. There were free, professional application photo shoots on all three days. In addition, the Employment Agency and the RWU Career Center offered an application portfolio check. Finally, there was a big career day competition every afternoon. Three participating companies sponsored prizes that were raffled off at the end of each day. This year, a MacBook Air and a Playstation 5 were among the prizes handed over to the lucky winners.
