CAREER & PERSPECTIVE

Business psychologists help companies to consistently align their business models and working practices with the needs of the respective target group.

Graduates are broadly positioned and versatile for a career in business. Primary job profiles are in the areas of HR, marketing and consulting. Their psychological expertise provides added value in dealing with many current economic challenges - examples include dealing with skills shortages, the introduction of flexible and digital working models and the promotion of health, motivation, diversity, gender equality and sustainable practices. Due to the strong focus on methods, the professional field of psychological research is also an option.

An advanced Master's degree, such as the Business Administration and Entrepreneurship course, opens up the possibility of further specialization and sharpening one's own profile.

With practical relevance, career orientation and freedom of choice, we give you a profile that employers want

In the first study phase, the course teaches basic business, psychological and methodological knowledge as well as English language skills suitable for a career in business.

The second study phase begins in the fourth semester. In the area of business administration, students can specialize in one of four specializations. They often choose Human Resources Management or Marketing/Sales. In psychology, the focus is on the two applied fields of work and organizational psychology and market and consumer psychology. In methods courses, students learn how to work with real business psychology data sets in a playful way. Students also carry out small empirical research projects independently.

Students gain their first practical experience in the practical semester, which is scheduled for the 6th semester. The Bachelor's thesis, which deals empirically with an entrepreneurial issue, is often written together with a company and concludes the course.

Who gets a place?

The applicants with the best overall grades are admitted.

Selection procedure - how is the overall grade calculated?

At RWU, this degree program is subject to the admission and selection regulations for Bachelor's degree programs is applied and carried out on the basis of the application documents. The creation of a shortlist or ranking list is explained below: The applicant's position on a ranking list is determined from the application documents according to the following procedure: Calculation of a weighted overall grade according to the formula
[(average grade of the higher education entrance qualification)+(grades German, mathematics * 2 and continued modern foreign language)/4] / 2

If there are more applicants than places, 90 % of the places are allocated by the selection procedure (best overall grade) and 10 % of the places are allocated according to waiting time.

Improvement of the overall grade

This overall grade can be improved if one or more of the following qualifications are proven:

  • Completed vocational training in the commercial field or from the recognized professional groups according to the admission and selection regulations. Admission and selection regulations: 0,3
  • Professional experience in the training occupation of at least 1 year: 0.1. This bonus is limited to 0.3 for three professional years.

Extracurricular achievements, pract. Activities and recognized previous experience: 0.1 per qualification, max. 2 qualifications can be taken into account:

  • Federal Voluntary Service (min. 11 months)
  • Voluntary social year
  • Stays abroad in the service of an NGO or on behalf of the state

Succession procedure

Prospective students often apply to several universities and degree courses. As a result, study places regularly become available again because an applicant decides to apply for a different course. These places that become available again are awarded in a succession procedure to those who did not get in first. Places are again allocated according to the ranking list, i.e. first to those with the best overall grade.

Further information on the application and allocation of places can be found at the Admissions Office.

SEMESTER FEE

Every semester , all students are required to pay a semester fee upon enrolment or re-registration. All universities in Germany charge a similar amount.

Composition and amount of the fee

FEES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AND FOR A SECOND DEGREE COURSE

Since the winter semester 2017/2018, Baden-Württemberg has had a tuition fee for international students (non-EU citizens) and a second degree course fee. This means that in some cases a tuition fee must be paid in addition to the semester fee.

Before enrolling, applicants from non-EU countries or applicants for a second degree course will receive a form to assess whether they are actually required to pay tuition fees.

The amounts and detailed information can be found under Finances.
