Sunrise

Ever since the film "Klaus" (2019, Netflix) was released, the bar for 2D animation has been set very high. Through clever use of light and shadow placement, the illusion is created here that the drawn figures are three-dimensional. The project "Sunrise" aims to create a six-second clip that imitates this style. The programs "Adobe Animate" for the animation and "Adobe After Effects" for lighting, shading and compositing were used for the implementation. The result is impressive: The eyes are a good example of how two-dimensional surfaces can appear three-dimensional through the skilful use of light and shadow.
