Artificial intelligence - Pandora's box has been opened

Weingarten - Language models such as ChatGPT, technical and medical diagnostic machines and intelligent robot cabs are already making our everyday (working) lives easier and relieving us of tasks. Life seems to be becoming more convenient and safer, and the economy seems to be growing faster. But what does the future look like with AI? Does this revolutionary technology offer more advantages or disadvantages? And what about the risks and dangers?

Professor Dr. Wolfgang Ertel will talk about this in the Wednesday seminar on January 17, 2024 from 6 pm at RWU. In his lecture, he will also address the much-discussed questions of whether artificial intelligence only contributes to the well-being of humanity and whether such systems will eventually be smarter than the smartest people. Wolfgang Ertel addresses questions and fears, such as whether jobs will be lost as a result of artificial intelligence. And he presents ideas for a sustainable future with AI.

Professor Dr. Wolfgang Ertel teaches and researches at RWU in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics and mathematics as well as sustainability. He is a member of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence at RWU, which he helped to establish. He is also involved in Scientists for Future. Wolfgang Ertel studied mathematics and physics in Konstanz.
