A visit to Albert Handtmann Metallgusswerk GmbH & Co. KG, Biberach

Also this semester, students of business administration (Bachelor) and industrial engineering (Master) visited a manufacturing company from the region. As part of the "Production Technology" event, the students were thus able to gain an insight into the various technologies at the company Albert Handtmann Metallgusswerk GmbH & Co. KG in Biberach. They learned which casting processes are suitable for which applications, how incredibly large a 4000 t die casting machine is and how fully automated casting cells work.

In addition, the students were able to find out about the six divisions of the company, which is still very much a family business, and about the internships, bachelor's or master's theses it offers. So it was a great day all round, with impressive impressions from the world of technology that could never be conveyed in such a theoretical event.
