At the invitation of Johannes Franke, Head of Work Scheduling at Kramer-Werke GmbH and former Technology Management student at RWU, a group of 4th semester TW students accompanied by Prof. Dr. Tobias Harth and Ulrike Reck-Obert were able to experience what is probably one of the most modern production facilities for construction machinery in Europe. The company, a subsidiary of the Wacker Neuson Group, develops and produces compact wheel loaders and telescopic handlers. The students were able to gain an exciting insight into the complex production of these machines and also find out about internships and dissertations.
In addition to a detailed company presentation, the group was given an interesting and educational tour of the company's commissioning and production departments. Concepts from lectures such as cycle time, waste or material supply could thus be experienced "live" in a real environment. The absolute highlight at the end of the day was the visit to the demo park, where the students were given the opportunity to drive the massive machines themselves. A great and exciting experience, also for the watching popcorn munching fellow students who preferred to watch the whole thing from a distance.
We would like to thank the great team at Kramer for this exciting day!
