The Soroptimist Club Ravensburg/Weingarten has honored this year's scholarship holder: Simona Aich, a Master's student at RWU Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences, receives the "Women's Advancement Award for Technology", endowed with 1,200 euros. The club has been presenting this award to a selected female student at RWU since 2007. For the year 2024/2025, the award committee selected the 23-year-old from Langenargen as the winner of the one-year scholarship from the number of female applicants.

In addition to a technically-oriented field of study as a basic requirement for this prize, social or societal commitment or exceptional life paths are also taken into account alongside academic achievements. The award winner should be a role model in a career path that tends to be untypical for women. Simona Aich fulfilled all these requirements and convinced the jury.

Scientific publication

After graduating from high school in Friedrichshafen at the top of her class, the Tettnang native completed a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business Administration and Information Technology at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society. In 2022, she also spent a theoretical semester abroad in Pensacola, Florida, where she co-published an article on ethical aspects of the use of artificial intelligence in the ISACA Journal.

In 2023, Aich finally began her Master's degree in Digital Business & Marketing Intelligence at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at RWU. At the same time, she is politically active: Her focus topics are affordable housing, more space for young people in Langenargen and the digital transformation of society. She firmly believes that positive changes can be achieved through open and constructive cooperation - both in voluntary work and at work.
