Start of registration for children's university

Get a taste of the world of science at a very early age just for fun and to get curious: That's the idea behind the popular children's university. Up to 130 children between the ages of nine and twelve can register from October 1.

Professors with experience in research and teaching will give a 45-minute lecture on a Friday afternoon, specially tailored to the expectations of children. And: you can really get a taste of university life. This is because the lectures take place from October to July directly at the partners of the Children's University, Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences,
University of Education and the Cooperative State University in Ravensburg.

These are the questions that will be addressed in the next academic year

The topics show that in most cases, the focus is on current trends, particularly in the technology that shapes our lives. It is important to engage with them, to be curious and yet not uncritical.

• Should robots with AI do our homework?
• How is it that we are immersed in another world with digital games?
• Is machine intelligence really intelligent?
• Is artificial intelligence magic? What can it do and what can't it do?
• Can we really shape the future with science?

And then there are topics that arouse general curiosity and help us to understand the world and everyday life:

• Our eating culture: why we eat with a fork.
• Can babies do math and how do children think?
• Today, anyone can make a movie: But how?
• Everything is possible digitally, but we still want to meet and see each other in person.

Registration is possible from October 1 via the registration form on the homepage: www.kinderuni-ravensburg-weingarten.de. There are no fees, just a badge that costs 10 euros and receives a stamp at each lecture as proof of attendance.
