Professor Dr. Michael Pfeffer, Vice-Rector for Research, International Affairs and Transfer, traveled to India in February 2025 to maintain partnerships and initiate new collaborations in the field of education. He was accompanied by Katrin Ronneburger, Head of the International Office, and Susan Rosendahl, Project Manager of the TAKEoff@RWU preparatory semester.

Internationalization and academic exchange

In Pune, the delegation visited the Baden-Württemberg cooperation office "Let's bridge IT" during their nine-day trip. In the future, RWU will receive support here in the targeted approach of German schools abroad for the German-language degree programs. In addition, more intensive promotion of the TAKEoff@RWU preparatory semester is to be promoted.

Talks were held in Jaipur with Amity University as a potential partner university for the exchange of language teachers. RWU also extended its long-standing cooperation with its partner university Banasthali Vidyapith.

Another university partnership was consolidated in Kochi: The exchange with the SCMS School of Engineering and Technology served to further strengthen the cooperation and was also officially sealed with a cooperation extension. During a tour of the campus, the Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology impressed visitors with its modern laboratories and its own fruit and vegetable garden. The future exchange of teaching staff and researchers was also discussed here.

Economic cooperation and innovative impulses

In addition to the academic exchange, Michael Pfeffer, Katrin Ronneburger and Susan Rosendahl also visited the Goethe-Institut in Pune. Here, representatives from Germany and India exchanged ideas with Petra Olschowski, the Minister of Science, Research and the Arts of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

A growing interest in German-language engineering courses and start-up initiatives was evident during the visit to the companies TOX® PRESSOTECHNIK and ifm as well as in the dialog with students from the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology.

The RWU delegation returned with numerous new impulses and strengthened partnerships. The delegation's trip marks another important step in the internationalization of the university and lays the foundation for future educational and economic cooperation.
