Profile
In the Electrical Drives and Controls Laboratory, students become familiar with:
- the operation of electrical machines,
- the function of power converters, frequency converters and servo amplifiers,
- the interaction of drives with PLC controls.
The laboratory, which has a floor area of approx. 200 m², can be roughly divided into ten workstations, four machine beds and an energy distributor. The latter can couple the individual workstations with each other in terms of energy technology and information technology. It is also possible to electrically supply applications from the machine room (basement) to the laboratory. In addition to ETHERNET (LAN, WLAN), all workstations are networked with the PROFIBUS and ProfiNET industrial buses.
On the one hand, laboratory exercises take place at the laboratory workstations, and on the other hand, scientific examinations (instructions for engineering work, project work, seminar work, bachelor's theses, industrial projects, scientific projects, master's theses) can be held, especially in the areas of "electric motors", "electric drives", "PLC controls". In terms of power range, studies up to approx. 10 kW are possible.
Up-to-date equipment, such as load machines, torque measuring equipment, measurement support etc. is available.
We offer industry the possibility of having investigations carried out in our laboratory and consulting in the field of electrical machines and drives.
