"Stay hungry, stay foolish!"

Around 200 guests came together last Friday (June 21) to celebrate the graduation of 160 graduates from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at RWU. 103 bachelor's and 57 master's students successfully completed their studies last winter semester. They were presented with their certificates in a festive setting. Several guests of honor were also present: Klemens Moll, Mayor of the City of Weingarten, Dr. Lothar Seybolt, representative of the University Council, and Dr. Wolfgang Pfeiffer, representative of the RWU Sponsors' Association.

"By graduating from RWU, you have all laid a crucial foundation for your professional careers. I would like to congratulate you all," said Professor Dr. Bela Mutschler, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, congratulating the graduates of his faculty. "Stay hungry, stay foolish," he quoted Steve Jobs. "Continue to be passionate and committed!" Professor Dr. Sebastian Mauser, Vice-Rector for Studies, Teaching and Quality Management, presented the Rectorate's congratulations: "You can be really proud of what you have achieved. I wish you all the best for the future!"

Outstanding achievements honored

In addition to the certificates, outstanding achievements were also recognized with special awards on this evening. Leon Baumann, a graduate of the bachelor's degree course in Applied Computer Science, received the doubleSlash Award from the Friedrichshafen-based IT company of the same name for his excellent bachelor's thesis on social engineering. The prize was presented by HR Officer Julia Hensle.

Elena Tanirak, a graduate of the bachelor's degree program in Business Informatics, dealt with the topic of sustainability reporting in her thesis. She received the enerquinn Award, which honors female students in STEM subjects. Heike Ewert, managing director of enerqiunn, presented the award in person.

The Students' Union Award went to Paul Spieß. He was honored for his great commitment to the VS, especially in the IT area.
